Ungraded cards on CardOutpost are pre-owned single cards, not factory-sealed product. Every ungraded card shows a condition on its card page, and that condition tells you what wear to expect on the physical card if you ship it to yourself. Use this page to read what each condition means before you buy or ship.
Every ungraded card carries one of five conditions, from Near Mint down to Damaged. The condition shown on a card is the condition we fulfill against. We do not offer Mint or Gem Mint ungraded cards, and Near Mint does not mean flawless — the definitions below say exactly what each condition permits.
The most significant flaw anchors the condition of the card. A card with several slight flaws and one moderate flaw is described by the moderate one.
Shows minimal wear from shuffling, play, or handling, with a nearly unmarked surface, crisp corners, and unblemished edges outside of a few slight flaws. Near Mint is not Mint or Gem Mint — those are not offered.
Flaws may include:
Noticeable imperfections are acceptable, but none severe and none in high volume. There are no issues with the structural integrity of the card.
Flaws may include:
Shows a moderate amount of wear across the card. Bends, peels, or liquid exposure are acceptable at this condition only where they do not affect the card's structure.
Flaws may include:
Shows a major amount of wear, and may carry many imperfections at once. The card can still be authenticated and is not structurally damaged.
Flaws may include:
Shows wear or imperfections beyond the standards for every other condition, including damage that affects the integrity of the card.
Flaws may include:
The card images on the Platform are catalog images that identify the card, not photographs of the individual copy you will receive. Two cards at the same condition can differ in exactly where their wear sits. Judge what you will receive from the stated condition and this page, not from the image.
This page covers ungraded cards only. A graded card is sealed in a slab and its condition is the numeric grade assigned by the grading company, shown on the card. Section 4 of the Terms of Service explains how grades and certification numbers are displayed on the Platform.
Wear that matches the condition shown on the card is expected and is not a defect. For the terms that govern the condition of a physical card, see Section 9 of the Terms of Service.
